The 30th Annual Prawn Day, held on Friday 27th March 2026, was a standout celebration for the Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce, bringing together 500 business and community members for a day of networking, connection, and fundraising for local charities.
Among the highlights of this milestone event was a very special moment — the induction of Frank Tucker as a Prawn Day Life Member.
While Chamber records over the years may not be perfect, it is widely known that Frank has been a dedicated supporter since at least the mid-1990s. Over the decades, he has consistently shown up, attending countless Chamber breakfasts and supporting the local business community with quiet reliability.
However, it is Frank’s passion for Prawn Day that truly sets him apart.
Year after year, Frank didn’t just attend — he brought people with him. What started as one table often grew into two or three, as he rallied friends, colleagues, and connections to be part of the event. In doing so, he played an important role in building the vibrant and connected community that Prawn Day is known for today.
One story shared on the day perfectly captured Frank’s spirit. In 2017, when the Chamber introduced online ticketing, Frank became the very first person to purchase a ticket digitally — a small but symbolic moment that reflected his ongoing support and willingness to embrace change.
Frank’s legacy also continues through his family. His son, Lee Tucker, now serves on the Chamber board, proudly carrying on the Tucker tradition. The presence of the well-known “Tucker Prawn Stars” at Prawn Day remains a testament to the family’s ongoing commitment and enthusiasm.
The induction took place in front of a crowd of 500 attendees, with Frank joining a select group of Prawn Day Life Members, including Howard Lawrence, Tim Ebbstein, and the late Noel Herbst — individuals who have each played a significant role in shaping the history of this iconic event.
As the Chamber celebrates 30 years of Prawn Day, it is people like Frank Tucker who remind us what this event is truly about — connection, community, and the power of showing up.
On behalf of the Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce, we congratulate Frank on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for his decades of support.
