A New Chapter for Beenleigh: Celebrating the Opening of the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre

The official opening of the newly redeveloped Beenleigh Aquatic Centre marked a proud and exciting moment for the local community, with a fantastic turnout of residents eager to experience the upgraded facility.

With free entry on the day, locals took full advantage of the opportunity to explore everything the centre has to offer — and it certainly did not disappoint. From families with young children to lap swimmers and community groups, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The redeveloped centre now boasts a 50-metre outdoor pool, perfect for fitness and training, as well as a modern indoor pool that ensures year-round access regardless of the weather. For younger visitors, the kids’ splash and play area was a standout, offering a fun and safe environment for families to spend time together.

Importantly, the facility has also been designed with the broader community in mind. A dedicated space for the Beenleigh Brass Band highlights the centre’s role not just as a place for recreation, but as a hub for local culture and connection.

The opening also carried a strong sense of history and community pride. Karin Nay attended on the day, representing a family deeply connected to the region. The Nay name holds special significance in Beenleigh, particularly through the legacy of Rob Nay, whose contribution to the community is remembered and respected by many. It was a meaningful moment to see that connection acknowledged as part of this new chapter.

The atmosphere on the day was vibrant and welcoming, with locals coming together to celebrate a facility that will serve the community for years to come. Events like this remind us just how important shared spaces are — places where people can connect, stay active and build community spirit.

The Beenleigh Aquatic Centre is more than just a pool — it’s a modern, inclusive community space that reflects the growth and pride of the region.
